Description:

Amy Ahearn is the project manager for the international fablab@school projects in Thailand and Russia. She coordinates digital fabrication design projects beween labs in Bangkok, Moscow, Nairobi and Palo Alto. In January 2013 she traveled to Thailand to open the new lab at the Darunsikkhalai School for Innovative Learning and participate in the 2013 Constructionist Learning Symposium. Prior to coming to Stanford, Amy was a program officer for the International Leaders in Education Program, a professional development program for teachers from over 50 countries sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. She was also a Fulbright grantee in Malaysia where she taught primary school. Amy graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in English and is interested in connections between traditional literacies and technical literacies, and ways that digital fabrication can enhance the study of the humanities.
